I have been a long time customer of Rousseau's. The store is so welcoming I always find myself wishing I could just move in to enjoy the fabulous decor. The style and variety is so well thought out. I really appreciate the personalized service and find that the value for the quality is excellent. Definitely 5 stars for Peggy and her team!
Pricey. Not a lot of inventory to actually sit on and touch etc. Most orders have to be done by photos.
After I purchased a chest from Rousseau over the phone, I have received a message on my answering machine from the store owner that she canceled the order because the chest was already sold when I placed the order.I have verified that the chest was actually not sold, but the owner simply lied to refuse the sale. I called back, and the owner was very rude over the phone, barely excusing herself that the salesperson did not know that the chest was being sold at the same time I called to process the order. This was a chest that stayed in the store floor for one year, and now, it was sold at the same time I called to place the order!The reason why the owner did not want to sell to me is that I initially balked at overpriced delivery fees, and requested to pickup the piece of furniture on my own. The owner tried to prevent me to pickup the furniture, by saying that I can only pick it up from a warehouse outside the store one month from the sale, etc. Eventually, I gave in and accepted the delivery fee, but too late for me: the owner preferred to lie and refuse me the sale.I have never seen such rude customer service in North America. Beware, and if possible, avoid. There are many stores in Toronto Area with furniture of the same quality, better prices, and spotless customer record.
