Tried Jus Convenience Jerk Stop for the first time tonight and everything was fantastic! My group ordered two jerk pork meals, a jerk chicken meal, festival, plantains, and some patties. The jerk was very flavorful and spiced to perfection, the rice and coleslaw paired great with the flavors of the jerk pork/chicken, and the festival had just the right amount of crunch to it with a nice touch of sweetness that was a good compliment to the meal. The texture and flavor of the plantains was also exactly what my group was looking for. The portion sizes were generous so the patties will be saved for tomorrow and I can't wait to try them then. The staff were also very friendly and my group and I send our compliments to the chef! I highly recommend Jus Convenience Jerk Stop to anyone looking for great Caribbean food in Whitby and I will definitely be returning soon.
Stoped by to grab a jerk chicken meal, the jerk was just ok but the coleslaw was a complete disappointment, I believe it cost around $13-15 for the meal had a patty on the side but I think it was from Allans pastry shop. This store sells frozen michidean Pattie’s which made up for the jerk chicken meal. 3/5⭐️ Went back tried the jerk pork and found it to be salty probably last try here for jerk but sending good vibes hope it fix up
I love this place. I sometimes stop here on the way home from work and get a LB of jerk pork and a box of Michidean patties. The owners are super sweet. I had such a great convo with one of the owners about perfecting jerk chicken and rice and peas. I bought some spices based on her recommendations. Will certailnly be using some tips and tricks for when I make jerk/rice and peas next.
Tried this place for the first time. I must say such great customer service. I bought 1lb mild jerk chicken with a serving of festival which comes with 6 pieces and 2 grace pop. This came up to $21 when I paid cash. Word is you save a bit if you pay cash but we’ll worth it and the festivals were fresh and so was the chicken. I’d say a 10min wait. I’ll definitely go back.
To be honest I was disappointed with the overall taste. Rice was good cooked to right doness has some coconut flavour coleslaw was good. Chicken I find was looking good but lack a good profile flavour, similar to Nathan Jerk but all be it better. I find the clove is over used. Portion size to price will make you consider other places as well before coming here. 3.9/5
I found this hidden gem a couple years ago and am I ever glad I did. My staple go to food is the Jerk Chicken Meal which is perfect from start to finish. From the portion size to the absolutely moist protein with the perfect spice, and being a guy that likes the little details, the slaw doesn't make a mess of the rice by being to wet, now that I appreciate. I sneak patties into my order from time to time as well and they are golden and flaky with a top shelf filling. Paul is a true gentleman and is a man who is all about building not a customer base but relationships with people. A man who clearly cares about his business and values those who enjoy the grub! Thank you for staying open late for me and my family last night, a positive end to a tough day.
Very Friendly staff. Talked to the chef when we had to put our dog down and he seemed genuinely sympathetic. Best little known place in Durham region. I would give 6 stars if I could
