I was really looking forward to trying this Jamaican spot, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. We ordered the curry goat and jerk pork, and both dishes tasted very bland. The portions had large chunks that were mostly fat, and because I arrived early for pickup, I noticed the staff weighing the ‘meat’ before packing it. On top of that, the service was surprisingly rude. I stood at the counter for a while without being acknowledged, and when I politely mentioned I was there for pickup, the staff didn’t say anything. So I waited until they eventually looked up and handed me my order without a word. Even when I said “thank you,” I was ignored. Overall, between the poor quality of the food and the lack of basic courtesy, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
We usually get the curry chicken roti..very good only advice I will give is try and make sure if this is what you want..get it at a reasonable time or they won't have any left ..and most of what you'll get has a lot of bones in it ..other than thst great stuff!
The Jerk House in Whitby is the real deal. The jerk pork and jerk chicken were packed with authentic Jamaican flavour, smoky and perfectly seasoned. Clearly, this was done on a grill and not in the oven. The curry goat was next level, tender, rich, and full of depth. We came in close to closing and worried there wouldn’t be much left, but there was still a great selection, and the quality was just as high as if it were midday. To top it off, we even got a complimentary festival with the jerk meats, which was a perfect touch. If you’re looking for true Jamaican taste just outside Toronto, this place delivers.
One of the best jerk chickens I’ve tried! The rice and peas were tasty and the coleslaw paired well. Pricing is very reasonable. The only downside was that I didn’t feel as welcomed, since the lady at the counter was wearing AirPods. Overall though, the food really made up for it.
This spot just jumped into my top 3 Jerk spots in the GTA. Their Ox Tail gravy is probably the best out of all 3. Chicken was juicy and the rice & peas were perfectly cooked. Their sweet coleslaw is right down my alley, even though I know some people don't like the vanilla flavoring but all in all, I'd drive here from North York just for this spot. 11/10!
super friendly staff and i liked their Oxtail but now it's hardly worth the price. Especially how much oxtail they serve for a large!! I use to go in here quite a bit but I'm going to have to start going somewhere else until portion sizes improve. Which is really sad cuz I actually really like this place..
