Amazing, fresh tasting fish. Everything was done right and very tasty. Brought my parents here, they fell in love. This is definitely has become the new go to restaurant for them. The owner was very humble and friendly.
We had a wonderful breakfast here! The three of us each ordered something different, and every dish was excellent. The booth seating was comfortable, and unlike many other places, the atmosphere was pleasantly quiet—perfect for enjoying a good conversation. Highly recommend!
Such a shame that Canada still hasn’t figured out how to do fish and chips. This was particularly bad. A very thin piece of king cod that was cooked to death and beyond so very dry and shredded, rather than flaked. The chips looked like they had suffered a massive drought and gone through major dehydration. We ordered three portions, unfortunately all the same. Having ‘specials’ doesn’t mean you cut corners on fish size and prep.
Went here on June 6th with my wife. Only a half before closing but the server named Peggy welcomed us in and quickly found us a table. She came back to tell us after we had ordered our Fish and Chips, that there were no fresh cuts fries and was very apologetic. She gave us an option of cubed hash browns if we wanted that instead. We decided to go with that. She apologized again for not having exactly what we ordered. We were ok with that. She was super attentive, and we were served quickly. Food was delicious and fresh. As we were leaving she said a warm “have a good night”. Great experience because of our Server Peggy.
For a Sunday, too many customers and only one server she was overwhelmed, that she even forgot a part of our order and by the time we got it we almost finished our breakfast. We were disappointed but there was no help for that server. I guess Halibut was not expecting so many customers on a Sunday morning. Father day to be exact.
Yes the fish is good, and if you partake in the daily specials, it is also priced well. The chips are proper authentic chips which is a treat. But excellent at this location is the service. Recommend.
Today we had lunch and dessert at this location. Peggy was fantastic! Very friendly and personable. We had the Monday special Haddock and chips. My mom had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Yum Yum. We even ordered food to go for our family members that couldn't make it here. We look forward to coming back
