Best of both worlds, pebble beach and an adjacent park with decent playground. Open gymnasium, sprinkler area, well maintained grassy field, lots of different slides and swings, benches and covered sheds for all season barbecue, lots of parking spots. Overall a decent experience.
Beautiful beach and park. Unfortunately today I across a couple who were trying to throw plastic with something inside in the water. They were stopped by a person who asked them not to litter. They took back the plastic and were waiting for the guy to leave . It was disgusting to note that after he left they were suspiciously wandering near the area looking for ways to throw the plastic in the water. I even took picture of that person. That person is seen carrying a plastic in one hand. We left soon but I am sure that person was just waiting for people to leave to throw the garbage in the water without anyone noticing. I request the authorities to please implement strict anti litter so such uneducated people won't dare to litter. There are people like us who really care about the environment and would like to matain the cleanliness and beauty of this place. After all cleanliness is next to godliness.
Love this place! Nice rocky shoreline, great playground for kids of all ages. Nice walking/bike path.
One of the absolute best places to go for a stroll in Whitby or walk your dog. Time seems to slow down a little here and most people will give you a smile, a nod, and a " Lovely day" . Always beautifully clean. Parking is seldom a problem as the flow of people in and out tends to be pretty even. My only wish for improvement is to have public toilets closer. Too .much of a hike for seniors who have to trek over 500m to use the ones on the other side of the park.
Lovely park on Whitby shore. Splash pad, children's swings and play area with lots of well maintained grass space to picnic on. Also, Heydenshore Pavilion, large indoor/outdoor facility for group functions, gatherings, celebrations, banquets, etc.
