I had the pleasure of being served by Brandon Vautour. He is an absolute rockstar, he was very polite and so helpful. Probably the best customer experience I’ve had at a retail store. Way to go Brandon!
Don't get the Glidden primer. You don't even get what you pay for! I bought a gallon of Glidden primer and was planning on painting the ceiling with it. Surprisingly, the primer had extremely poor coverage; worse than you'd expect with primer. It was like you were painting with milk! It looked wet and a bit whiter, but not painted. I took it back to Dulux but they couldn't return it because there were paint drips down the side of the can. Therefore it was not in resellable condition. I expect that Dulux doesn't have the same bargaining power as Home Depot or a big box store, so they probably can't return it to Glidden, so they can't give me my money back. However, Behr paint can have poor coverage as well. One time, I found that it was not covering on the third coat. I took back a very small amount, complaining about the poor coverage and Home Depot was able to refund the full price. I have several houses, have moved quite a bit and painted so much that the staff often asked if I was a professional painter. Dulux is my paint of choice and the Whitby staff are great at the store, but don't go with Glidden. Having to paint three or four times will cost you far more in time, effort, aggravation and more paint! Maybe I just received a bad batch, but I left the 90% full gallon of Glidden paint at the store for proper disposal.
I had a great experience at this location. I needed paint matched and Avery assisted and was able to help match the colour. Before buying he was able to get me a sample to try at home first with no obligation to purchase the paint he mixed. I went back the next day to purchase the paint and he had the paint set aside for me ready to go.
DO NOT come here unless you want to wait in line indefinitely and get COMPLETELY IGNORED by the staff. We waited in line over 10 minutes just to buy a new roller. Two staff were working and completely ignored us while TALKING to customers. I understand if you’re putting orders through, but one staff was simply talking with a family that had questions and the other staff was still waiting for several paint cans to mix. The family even said for us to go ahead first, but still no one even looked at us. I would have been more understanding if either of the staff members acknowledged us in any way. We ended up leaving and going to Homehardware for a better price and MUCH faster service. Save your time and money.

Big shout out to Avrey! I called the store about 20 minutes before close today with an inquiry about purchasing paint with a colour shade from a different brand. I asked if he was able to make the paint within the next 15 minutes or if that was too late because it was close to closing but he said he would stay the few minutes later if he needed to (ended up going and picking up paint before closing time, I live close). He asked me questions I didn’t even consider when painting, which helped me choose the type of paint I needed for the space. Super friendly and knowledgeable. Really happy with the experience here. If you want amazing customer service, this is the ONLY place to go!! Every time I call they have a solid memory of my last DIY project. I never remember the lady who takes the orders but she’s patient and very knowledgeable in everything I needed! I drive out of my way from bowmanville to come to this place!! Keep up the amazing work Dulux Whitby!!!
