Nice place. Just beware that if you get aquatic plants for your tank that you run the risk of bringing home SNAILS that will invade your tank. When this happens, you have the added time and expense of getting rid of them.
Amazing staff in the back, very knowledgeable and helpful! Have lots of information about both fresh and salt water fish and always a pleasant atmosphere when I shop there! 5 stars and Highly recommend shopping for live stock BUT the front is a different story...one time I was purchasing a fish and the cashier (seemed new) asked the manager for help and he refused and had told her to ask someone else and there wasnt anyone around. Not how a manger should treat employees. I would love to make this a 5 star but for that I have to say 4 and a half
I went here to purchase frozen rats to feed my Ball Python as someone recommended Big Al's to me. Having never been here I was happy to see that they have a variety of reptile supplies although their major focus is aquariums/fish. Loved walking through the aquarium part of the store & looking at their selection of fish.Overall, the store is well-laid out, clean, & organized with helpful sales staff.
Had sick and injured reptiles in front of store, I spoke with manager and he did nothing and gave a bunch of excuses. Went back shortly after and the reptiles were gone... Hopefully not dead - I give the front of the store a 0/5.. For the staff in the back dealing with the fish I'd give them a 5/5
I was looking for fancy goldfish. Made a visit while planning stock/cycling the tank setup and looked at some small lionhead/orandas. Noticed alot of injured or sick black moors in the tank with them. Made a return trip two days later (over a long weekend) and found half the tank was dead, floating petrified with very sick looking survivors. Walked away feeling kind of disturbed. Week later, dropped by to check plant selection (very limited) and saw they had restocked medium sized orandas. Tank was very very overcrowded with zero airation, fish visibly gasping for air and emancipated. Staff/owner at this location obvious do not care for their fish stock, very cruel. Will never be going back. PetSmart has better quality/care.
