I stopped in with the kids to print a page I needed and Mary helped us out. Mary was very helpful, knowledgeable and kind person. The library was nice and we even found some Xbox games and a few books the kids wanted to read.
Hey this library new furniture is a much welcome change and improvement ?? Plus the big opening on the south wall is finally covered up after 4 years ??. On electric car charge stations, good to have it but this town should consider first hour free charge approach as many progressive towns do ( LaSalle Ont library as one of many examples)
They didn't have The Man Who Wasn't There (2001) in their catalogue, which means my family had to skip a film in the Coen brothers filmography and watch Intolerable Cruelty (2003) instead. Intolerable Cruelty (2003) is the worst film I've ever seen, considering the directors. It wasn't at all entertaining; I wanted to sleep throughout the entirety of the movie. It honestly didn't seem like a Coen brothers movie as much as a parody of their work, and a poorly done one at that. Please add The Man Who Wasn't There (2001) to your catalogue and you will get four extra stars.
Hi, I just happened to visit the Whitby Library, Brooklin. The lady at the front desk named Cheryl kept us waiting for 25-30 mins. She didn’t even have the courtesy to ask us what we were looking for. She was with a lady and her kids talking to them, help them chose beads for the summer reading program. When our turn finally came after half an hour she said that holds are self serve and we don’t need her. This she could have told us long back when she didn’t have the generosity to check with us if it were a quick thing that we were looking for. She did say sorry but I was so so pissed off by her attitude .. as if it was done deliberately.i am not sure we still have people like her managing the front desk at the Brooklin branch ... such kind of behaviour should not be tolerated at any cost or at least train the staff such that he/ she could have asked us what we were looking for instead of making us wait for good 30 mins. So pissed off by my visit today morning. Thanks Anupam Agarwal

My children and I LOVED The Whitby Public Library. We lived in Whitby during the decade that the Library went from a small building to where it is today. In addition to the layout, books, magazines and computers, the Staff at the Library make it an inviting place for all, including people of color. The Cafe is an attraction that we would indulge in once in a while. The concerts and events in The Square, lovely waterfall and all, was a summer attraction for anyone who appreciates the simple things in life that bring us together as a community. When I moved to Ottawa the 1st thing my kids and I did was go to the Library. "Bummer!" It was nothing like what we were used to. We were in and out in under 15 mins! Then we heard that there were many libraries in Ottawa so we went "Library Hopping" looking for the one that fit just right! But Alas! "We MISS The Whitby Public Library big time." I have to say it will be a big factor for me when I am ready to purchase my retirement residence. Nice essential services with pleasant staff is what makes a community feel like HOME.
I had a very positive experience visiting this library for the first time. Overall the staff are very friendly. I was helped by Sherry and she did an excellent job explaining all of the services and programs available. She even took the time to contact me to let me know that I left my cell phone behind. The baby sing along program is also very well run.
This is my favorite library it usually had everything I want and would totally recommend this place
It's pretty good. It's not perfect, but they got some pretty cool stuff. Sometimes they have movie events for only a few dollars admission and they even have a youth room that not many people know about that doesn't cost any money to get a membership for. That part's awesome. The only real complain I have is that they don't show off what you can do there enough.EDIT: When I first posted this review, I completely forgot to mention the sports stuff, which there is A LOT of. Pretty decent after school sports stuff for kids, some elder stuff, I think even a yoga class and especially a summer camp. Just something nice and inviting and kind to send a member of your family to so they can relax or stay active.
Good size library for the town. Staff are very friendly and good selection of books, DVDs, graphic novels and computers / study areas. Children's area at back is great.
