I bought a turntable setup today and it was an amazing experience. All the staff were super helpful, and Scott personally made sure I was well informed on all the products and how to use them. I will definitely be coming back in the future.
First class customer service! I dealt with Scott, who was knowledgeable, friendly and trustworthy. The speakers I bought weren't the right fit for my listening space, but Whitby Audio allowed me to return them hassle free (they were b-stock). However, I will not hesitate to buy from the shop again in the future.
Worst customer service! The employee was very degrading and not helpful. With this place being the only real audio store around it sucks that I’ll never enter this establishment again.
The team at Whitby Audio are very knowledgeable and helpful...it's great to be able to go into the showroom to just look at all the new equipment and not be pressured into buying they just enjoy providing their knowledge, but when you do make the purchase you feel great leaving there as they stand behind their equipment and the brands they sell are top notch! I typically deal with James, but Michael and Scott are great guys and a pleasure to deal with, too.
James and Kareem are the best audio/video sales and techs that I have ever dealt with…. True professionals that over the years I have learned to trust and continue to recommend to my family and friends….
UPDATE: We recently decided to tear out the rugs in our home and put down some flooring. Due to the complicated nature of our system (and, as seniors, we're anxious about unhooking our entire system), we consulted James for advice. After considering his great advice, we chose to have Kareem come over to, not only unhooking the system, but also assist in moving the components carefully out of the room. He did this quickly, efficiently and with great care. Once the flooring was completed, he came back to put it all back together again so that we did not miss a day of viewing pleasure. Thanks again to James and Kareem who are available to advise and to assist whenever needed. This is the kind of customer service and continuity that harkens back to the days when you could count on the people and places that sell complicated and expensive items. The staff at Whitby Audio Video are extremely knowledgeable. I was amazed at the depth of their knowledgeable about everything audio video. We went in because, after 10 years, our entertainment system needed upgrading. We dealt with James. I was intrigued by the questions he asked us about our use of the current set up we have in our living room. He asked to see pictures of the space. He also asked about our expectations for the upgrade and our viewing habits. He listened to us and then provided suggestions for replacing the certain components. He included various price points and gave us pros and cons for each make, model and size. He thoroughly explained why the selections were made, and for each component, he showed us comparisons so that we could see/hear the difference for ourselves. He gave us a quote for what we had selected and asked us to take time to consider all the information. In the end, we decided to purchase most of the components we had discussed. In response to our concern about whether certain speakers we liked would fit the space, he sent his installation expert, Kareem, to our house to check and advise. Once all was agreed upon, we discussed the Instalation date. Kareem was such a professional during the whole installation process. He removed our existing components and equipment and completed the installation during the time alotted. He was very patient with us, we are seniors. He mentioned that our Rogers equipment was older and that we might want to consider upgrading it also. Kareem was a genius. We asked for various modifications and he made them or explained why we didn't need them or why the system didn't offer them. We eventually booked him to come install our new Rogers equipment so that the new entertainment system would be connected properly. We are extremely pleased with the whole experience - components, Instalation and price. Even our frustration with not knowing what we are doing was eased by both James and Kareem. They are true gems. Whitby Audio Video truly exceeded our expectations.
Decided last weekend to re-live my youth and buy a turntable. In 15 min flat I walked out with a new turntable, hooked it up and it was amazing. Didn't realize how much I missed that crackling sound with 40 year old LPs...James was extremely helpful and took the time to explain how to use it (it's been a while), a big thank you!
